Dr. William U. Pearson Community Center

The Pearson Center continues to be adaptive to the societal challenges of our youth, seniors, and the preservation of the family. We are proponents for the needs of the Clark County community and serve as a conduit for constituents regarding public policies that impact low-income individuals and families. We advocate civic awareness to empower an informed citizenry to participate fully in society. We offer programs and services with an emphasis on addressing the life cycle of individuals and families and their roles and responsibilities.

The objective of the Pearson Center, in line with the mission of the Urban League, is to positively influence the outcomes of minorities in economically challenged communities by offering effective recreational, social services, sports, health and wellness and educational programs to enhance their lives through advocacy of environmental and self-awareness and providing education and resources to promote self-sufficiency. Our vision for Clark County children and families is to see every child advance to the next juncture of their life cycle prepared for every opportunity to succeed professionally, personally, and within the community. Our goal is to stop the cycle of despair—100 percent high school graduation rates; families thriving economically--building assets and increasing incomes; parents possessing the skills, knowledge, and abilities to sustain a nurturing household.
